Students and Bus driver held hostage, Pretoria North.
Five suspects allegedly vandalised a bus and held students and their driver hostage in Pretoria North.
Ga-Rankuwa police are still looking for five people who allegedly robbed Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) students of their cellphones and laptops, reports Pretoria North Rekord.
Police spokesperson Captain Mathews Nkoadi said a bus transporting the students on Friday was stoned by a group of people in Ga-Rankuwa.
“The suspects apparently held the victims and the driver hostage with guns,” he said.
“The students were then apparently ordered to hand over their cellphones, cash and laptops before the perpetrators fled the scene on foot.
“All of the suspects are known and a case of armed robbery is being investigated,” he said.
Nkoadi urged anyone with information which could lead to the arrest of the culprits to call the police on 08 600 10111 or SMS on 32211.
Meanwhile, Nkoadi also said two men alleged to have raped a 27-year-old woman in Soshanguve were behind bars.
“A manhunt was launched on Sunday morning and two suspects aged between 26 and 27 were identified by the victim and apprehended,” Nkoadi said.
